Well as I am now 40+, my thoughts investigations and ideas, will convert from the rantings of the young to the wisdom of the seasoned. So I have decided to share some of these ideas in efforts to create a dialog that advances the understanding of both myself and the readers.

Positioned for the home stretch
Dr. Paul has to break 10% about mid-December and, if the campaign could announce Mark Sanford as the VP pick between Thanksgiving and Christmas, at the latest, he would then go to at least 20% (probably higher) in general polling in January. That would allow the campaign to win 3 of the 5 January primaries and place in the top three of all January events. The January states are:
- Iowa: Jan 3 (caucus)
- Wyoming: Jan. 5th (caucus)
- New Hampshire: Jan. 8th (Primary)
- Michigan: Jan. 15th (Primary)
- South Carolina: Jan. 19th (Primary)
- Nevada: Jan. 19th (Primary)
- Florida Jan. 29th (Primary)
Then, Sanford's record as Governor bests Huckabee hands down. Sanford enjoys 55% overall approval in South Carolina and 72% among Republicans. The pairing is very strong. Without Sanford as a VP pick it will be a much harder uphill slog into January even with a money boost from Dec. 16th. However, Romney, Giuliani, Thompson and McCain will still split the establishment vote they have left in the general poll numbers of likely Republican voters. You can see by the general poll numbers the 'likely' voter is getting confused about their choices in the "top" tier.
If Dr. Paul indeed has the off-poll numbers this campaign indicates and his general poll numbers continue to rise from the current 8% into January (especially after Dec. 16th), we are sitting correctly there too. As long as the new registrations continue until Jan 5th in most of the Super Tuesday closed states and up to Feb 5th in open states (walk-ins) we have a heck of a shot.
But that Jan. 5th registration date is looming in the closed poll states. The mail-in Dec 5th registration change date is in two weeks. So we should be prepared to shift gears so folks know only to concentrate on Republican PC slots, delegate calling/mailing/walking from the 2006 list in their counties and no more attention paid to the registered-unaffiliated and other party voters. Republicans and eligible unregistered only.

The Media’s Plan to Ambush Ron Paul
Mike Whitney
"The American Republic is in remnant status. The stage is set for our country to devolve into a military dictatorship, and few seem to care." Rep. Ron Paul
November 7, 2007
First we stop the killing, and then we restore the Constitution. These are our two main priorities. And that’s why I’m voting for Ron Paul. He is the only candidate (with a chance to win) who’s promising to do either. And he’ll keep his word. That makes him the only truly American candidate running for president.
Paul is serious about withdrawing US troops from Iraq. He knows that the war was a mistake and believes that the American occupation must end. He has promised to stop the ongoing slaughter of Iraqi civilians. That should be the primary moral consideration for anyone casting a ballot on November 3.
Will you vote to stop the killing or not? It’s as simple as that.
Paul has also promised to restore the rule of law---to repeal the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act; to reinstate Posse Comitatus, due process, habeas corpus, and the "presumption of innocence". He’ll make sure that US prisoners—whether they are American citizens or foreign nationals---are treated in way that complies with our treaty obligations, the Geneva Conventions, the Bill of Rights, and the basic tenets of human decency.
Under Paul, the torture will stop. Period.
What other candidate will stop the torture of US prisoners? What other candidate will stop the government’s spying on the American people? What other candidate will challenge Bush’s claim that the president can arbitrarily cast an American citizen in prison and keep him there as long as he chooses without charging him with a crime?
Bush has abolished the basic safeguards which protect the citizen from the long-arm of the state. The legal system needs be purged of his executive signing statements and presidential decrees. Only Paul promises to restore the Constitution. There is no second choice.
Paul is the only candidate who grasps the economic problems facing the nation from our massive deficit spending, the destruction of our manufacturing base, and the falling dollar. He may not be able to pull us back from the brink, but he will rebuild confidence in our currency, our markets, and our trade policies. That’s the best we can hope for given the mess that Bush has created.
On November 5, Guy Fawkes Day, the Paul campaign raised over $4.07 million in one day mostly from private citizens. He surpassed all the other candidates except Hilary Clinton and has raised more than $6.84 million in the first five weeks of this quarter alone. Paul’s "purely" grassroots movement is energized by working class Americans who see his candidacy as a last-ditch effort to end the war in Iraq, reestablish fiscal sanity, and restore civil liberties.
Despite the fact that Paul has a strong personal approval ratings and polls well against his competitors; the media has deliberately---and very successfully---kept him out of the public eye. That will be more difficult to do now that his campaign war-chest is packed with contributions and his base of support is expanding across the country.
We expect the media to ditch its failed strategy of simply ignoring Paul and take the more aggressive approach of attacking him outright. Now that Paul has established himself as a credible threat to the warmongering, autocratic corporate elite; he will have to be discredited through a coordinated media-blitz which will target his voting record, his character, and any other trivial foible which may incite public scorn.
He’s got a bull’s-eye on his back.
We’ve seen it all before, haven’t we? The politics of personal destruction organized and directed from the penthouse suites of the media’s corporate offices?
Perhaps, it will be a repeat of the "Dean Scream", where the voice of antiwar candidate Howard Dean was isolated from the crowd noise-- and played on the mainstream media over 900 times in 48 hours---making Dean look like a maniac and torpedoing whatever chance he may have had of winning the Democratic nomination.
Or maybe it will be like John McCain’s "rumored" out-of-wedlock black baby in the North Carolina primary? Or the "Swift-boating" of John Kerry in the 2004 election? Or the attacks on Dan Rather following his report that the president was a slacker who vamoosed from the "Champagne Unit" of the Texas National Guard during wartime?
Whatever the plan may be, we should know by now that the media will continue to act as the chief adversary of the American people and the cause of freedom. That won’t change until the 5 corporate media-giants are brought to account and busted up into a thousand little pieces.
But don’t expect the Paul supporters to throw in the towel like the weak-kneed Dean throng. These guys are stubborn and resolute. And they won’t budge on matters of principle. They’re not taken in by the media’s cheesy smear-campaigns and they won’t jump off the bandwagon at the first sign of trouble.
The Paul crowd has some heavy artillery of their own, too---and they’re wheeling it into place right now. Their ranks are gradually swelling, the money is pouring in, and they are not going to give up their country without a fight.
This election is shaping up to be a clash of ideals between the people who still believe in freedom and those who don’t. It’s going hand-to-hand combat and it’ll probably crack the country in two.
Good. Let the battle begin. As Thomas Jefferson said, "Every generation needs a new revolution."

Health freedom
October 22, 2007
Discover what Ron Paul has done as a congressman. Imagine what he will do as president.
When health freedom advocates need a congressman to fight against attempts to restrict access to dietary supplements, they turn to Dr. Ron Paul. Dr. Paul is the leader in Washington who is not afraid to fight the powerful special interests that want to limit access to dietary supplements.
When Dr. Paul learned the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) was trying to censor truthful health claims by supplement manufacturers, he introduced the Health Freedom Protection Act (H.R. 2117).
"The Health Freedom Protection Act will force the FDA to at last comply with the commands of Congress, the First Amendment, and the American people by codifying the First Amendment standards adopted by the federal courts. Specifically, the Health Freedom Protection Act stops the FDA from censoring truthful claims about the curative, mitigate, or preventative effects of dietary supplements, and adopts the federal court's suggested use of disclaimers as an alternative to censorship. The Health Freedom Protection Act also stops the FDA from prohibiting the distribution of scientific articles and publications regarding the role of nutrients in protecting against disease," Dr. Paul explained.
Our health freedom is also threatened by attempts to "harmonize" American laws with those of other countries, thus forcing Americans to live under European-style restrictions of dietary supplements. Dr. Paul worked to add language to the 1997 FDA Modernization Act forbidding the FDA from harmonizing our rules with those of any other nation.
The primary instrument of "harmonization" is the Codex Alimentarius Commission, a group of international bureaucrats who are developing "health care standards" for the United Nations and the World Trade Organization. The FDA is an enthusiastic participant in the Codex process.
When Dr. Paul learned the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) contained language that might facilitate the imposition of Codex's restrictive standards on American consumers, he informed his congressional colleagues of this danger with a series of letters. In addition, Dr. Paul sponsored several briefings on the issue.
More recently, Dr. Paul has shown how the FDA is working with its counterparts in Canada and Mexico on a Trilateral Cooperation charter that could "harmonize" regulation of dietary supplements among the three countries. Dr. Paul led a congressional inquiry into the Trilateral Cooperation, forcing the FDA to go on record about its involvement in the Trilateral charter.
As a congressman for 10 terms, Dr. Ron Paul has fought to protect your health freedom. Imagine what he will do as president.

A good online comment from someone named "Buddy"
This is why I support RON PAUL. There are three things about present day America that I find FRIGHTENING (I'm not sure which is most frightening):
1. Our failed, imperialistic, foreign policy: The Iraq war is only the most visible part of the problem. We have troops in I-don't-know-how-many countries world wide. Bush and his cronies talk about promoting "democracy," but before Saddam decided to grab Kuwait the US strongly supported Saddam. We have also regularly supported a long list of repressive regimes: the Shah of Iran, the current Saudi government, who knows how many African and South American war lords, etc. Lets face it. Most of the world hates us. Terrorism is simply a by-product of our own foreign policy. Every time an Iraqi child is killed with the US occupying the country - regardless of whether we had anything to do with the death - more hatred is generated and more Islamics volunteer or give money to the terrorists. I cannot support a presidential candidate who does not offer a fundamental change of our foreign policy. RON PAUL will bring all the troops home, stop policing the world, and stop meddling in other country’s affairs.
2. National debt: the official debt is approaching $9 trillion dollars, but if you add in the amounts that the government is supposedly committed to pay out in entitlement programs, such as social security and medicare, the debt is over $50 trillion. The situation is absolutely unsustainable. If spending is not controlled, we are facing either massive default by the government or Weimar Republic style inflation. I am frightened that the result will be a depression that makes the 1930s look prosperous. Most of the Republican candidates talk about controlling spending and balancing the budget but, in practice, they spend, spend, spend. The Democratic candidates hardly mention the problem and propose massive new spending. I cannot support a presidential candidate who will not downsize the federal government and drastically cut spending. RON PAUL is the only candidate has proposed eliminating entire government departments. He is serious about smaller government.
3. The Patriot Act, Military Commissions Act, etc.: Using 9/11 and the terrorists that our own foreign policy has generated as an excuse, the Bush administration has essentially repealed the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments and the habeas corpus clause of the Constitution. The government admits that it is engaged in internet spying, wiretaps, and in some cases, physical searches without probable cause or a warrant. People are being held in cognito, without trial or even indictment. They are denied legal counsel and are not permitted to bring a writ of habeas corpus. The general public seems to believe that only persons of Arabic decent are affected, but the possibility of this being extended to political dissenters is frightening. The German public of the early 1930s thought only Jews were affected. I cannot support a presidential candidate who will not restore the Bill of Rights. RON PAUL was one of the few Republicans to vote against the Patriot Act. He is pledged to uphold the Constitution, not destroy it.

Where are the Friends of Fred
Managing Editor
CNBC.com
The Ron Paul supporters have waited a very long time for a candidate that truly believes in limited government. The Ron Paul supporters were the majority of the people watching your debate that cared enough to vote. It doesn’t mean that 75% of the population would vote for Ron Paul. But it does mean that 75% of the people that watched your channel and took action, at your request, were Ron Paul supporters!
If you run another poll rest assured that Ron Paul will win it. We are very excited about a return to a constitutional government. If you ask for a “show of hands” you should NOT slap those that participate. Just simply acknowledge, that when asked, the Ron Paul supporters raised their hands and the other supporters didn’t. That is what happened. Why do you speak down to those that did what you asked instead of trying to reach out to the other candidates supporters? I would like to see a headline: “An Open Letter to the Rudy Giuliani’s not so Faithful” or “Where are the Friends of Fred” or “Team Mitt please stand up”
Please help us spread the cause of liberty and freedom.
Thanks!
